a web series for revolutionaries
“The process grandfathers in the two corporate political parties…which basically says you gotta chose between two…it creates a politics of fear. And that politics of fear has delivered everything we are afraid of.”
-Jill Stein, Green Party, former US Presidential Candidate
Just over three years after the election of Donald Trump as president of the United States of America, the threat of his re-election looms large despite a successful impeachment campaign. How is that even possible? The 8-part mini-documentary series “Resistance” dismantles the rusty and flawed US-American political system, that upholds a deeply entrenched two-party construct, dividing a nation with politics of fear and excluding many citizens from proper democratic representation.
A Resistance is rising from within though, as Blake Lewis, an expat living in Munich, explores the fractured American left during protests against the Trump inauguration and comes to question the legitimacy of the U.S. political system. The series features interviews with progressive thinkers like Ralph Nader, Jill Stein (Green Party), Kshama Sawant (Socialist Alternative), Kevin Zeese & Margaret Flowers (Popular Resistance) and sheds a light on the dubious US-American voting system.
